Warm and Fuzzy Post

For certain non-Topiary readers who may be huddled next to space heaters, Topiary is providing this photo to warm them up.

What? It's not working?

Okay, this quick research may help.

The biggest-grossing movies of all time: Titanic, with a palty 953 parodies posted on YouTube; Dark Knight, 3600 parodies; Transformers, 3,180 parodies.

And then there's Twilight with an amazing 11,200 parodies. What does this tell us? Why, that Twilight fans either have better senses of humor or more access to video editing than other moovie fans. Or maybe just more energy.

Doesn't that warm your heart?

Wintry moo!

I'm pretty warm in my house, I absolutely REFUSE to be uncomfortable in my own home, but outside? Outside is miserably cold. Well, for Florida, it is. It went down in the twenties last night with wind chills the likes I haven't experienced since living up north. I have no warm clothes. I've been drinking lots of hot tea, but no more fires because people have lost their minds and bought out the stores of their duralogs and firewood. (drat)

Hope you are staying warm... I'm freezing down here in "Sunny" Florida.

That picture looks a lot like Wellington, Florida. I am on vacation, with hopes of doing much around the house. After stepping outside this morning, the wind almost knocking me over, I am hunkering down until the warm sun peeks out. Note to Karen, I bought all the firewood.( even though I don't have a fireplace!)

11,200 parodies? I better see the original movie to avoid missing out on this avalanche of wit.

Karen, from the news you won't have to burn duralogs, you'll just be able to buy tons of ruined crops of oranges and berries and burn those.

So sad for the farmers. We are also cold here in the Deep South of MS. Actual ice on roads. Been staying in!

RJ,
yes there is nothing like weather like this to keep you inside! Really there isn't much you can do outside now anyway, the paint wouldn't dry, the grass doesn't need cutting and if the roof has blown off you're just sol!

Kevin,
Vast desolate space with wind? Oh, that's just the refrigerator?
(wishing you some English food like pudding, or get in touch with Lulu!)

Gorilla,
Yes you probably should rent the original, there is just something about it which lends itself to making fun of it. Strange because in a lot of ways (artistically, musically, acting) the movie was excellent, it is just maybe the subject matter that is so easily parodied.

For a long time Cow avoided iconic movies like ET or Titanic, didn't want to see them just because they were so damn popular. But you do miss out on a lot of cultural references and jokes if you miss them (Cow finally did give in and see Jerry Maguire which has furnished parodies even in other movies, since it came out).

i just called my friend and she was reading a book of Twilight parodies. i think she wasn't eager to be pulled away. perhaps there's a conspiracy?

karen, do you need sweatshirts? i have zillions. as i hate the cold, i believe in the ten layer of clothing theory. i'm sure i could spare you a few layers and still waddle to work (i work in a warehouse with suspect heat.)

cow, thank you from the bottom of my now warm heart. i feel much better, although i seriously did forget i left the heater on in the office for hours. the fiance was not very happy. sorry fiance.
