Gold

So the Wall Street firms tank, and the housing market crashes in response to all these foreclosures coming on the market. So lots'o'companies have difficulties, including those which do business overseas.

So overseas companies start not wanting our dollars, and start buying gold, and surprise, the gold price goes sky-high. Meanwhile interest rates are at zero, so there's no point, really, in putting or keeping money in the bank.

This illustrates why it is always best to keep your assets in sharpened Topiary shears and live in a hedge, or better yet, just BE a hedge.

There's always a market for tins of corned beef and jars of honey. Though they make the mattress a bit lumpy.

Ms Cow, only the stupid money is buying gold. They are disciples of Paleface Potter who won't even get to marry Jane Russell.

Kate: yes do not throw out any mattresses in her house!!!

Kevin: (Topiary making plans to be at your house when the economy tanks)

At least we won't go hungry! Maybe you can secrete some leftovers from that retirement party, while you're at it!

Gorilla: Agree--it is another bubble. However, it might be a good time to sell! (Congo gold is surely abundant)

Moo!

My father used to always say to have property or gold as investment.

Unfortunately his advice fell on my deaf ears.

Oh, wait, I have gold underneath my crowns on two back teeth. (yeah, confessing to major dental work here)

i like gold eye shadow. i think it's cheery and matches my over-highlighted hair.

i would never trade or sell my nice gold eyeshadow -- i really think the folks on wall street should turn to me. i'm great with mascara too!
