Happy Friday!

Actual photo of Topiary Driveway, showing evening spread (dog food, sunflower seeds and cut-up, over-ripe cantaloupe) and unexpectedly early guest for dinner.

Raccoon seems to have made it through the winter in fine shape!

Occasionally Cow will also catch a glimpse of the renowned rodent-killer and insect-eater patrol, otherwise known as North America's only marsupial, the oppossum. And here is a cute story about two baby possums being raised by a wildlife rehabilitator!

Who knew that they could be easily trained to use cat boxes?

Cow of course does not attempt to tame or capture wild critters---merely provides food supplementation during the winter to help them have their little lives without starving.....

(Cow now pruning handy bush into Topiary Triubute to Cute Baby Oppossum)

We have possums here. They look nothing like opossums though. Funny the difference an "o" makes.

But they live in trees and come out at night, running along the power lines. We have to make sure that they do not get in the roof space of the house or you get possum wee stains on the ceiling. Very bad.

Naturally they are protected creatures. We never feed them and they are very unfriendly should you pick one up. They eat the tips of trees and have made their way into my vegetable garden for a feed. Very cute.

Linda: Cow rather frightened to imagine just how possums look in Linda-Land, otherwise known as Australia.

Dearie me. Cow getting the feeling Linda and her Vegetable Garden not sharing Cow's affection for the possum-patrol...snif*

GB: Cow wishes she could persuade more Southerners into a live-and-let-live philosophy...

and thanks Gorilla for his graciousness. Gorilla, of course, would be assured of much better than dog food and over-ripe cantaloupe should he ever leave the Congo....

Moo!

Linda is very envious that Topiary even gets to see a racoon in real life.

Cow thinking raccoons would probably like to see Linda too.

Especially were she to bring along some of her prize twaddle.

Moo!
