Now

Cow remembers back before 1993 when the sources of knowledge were printed materials, friends, co-workers, paid consultants. Classes, studying. Knowledge was hard-won.

Now you can look up anything and get thousands of hits.

Cow wonders, will we all make better decisions now? Better informed, better researched, just better? From careers, to financial choices, to luuuuve, to Topiary Trim techniques...

Will everyone do everything better now?

Moo?

The answer to your question is "yes", unless you're the type of person to be fooled by a hoaxer. A lot of the information you find on the net is bogus.

Simple Topiary, alas, are easily fooled by tricksters touting sharp shears at 'cut-rate' prices.

Hurray for Snopes. I love being the smartypants telling my dad that the email he just forwarded to me is a bunch o' hooey.

The internet is every hypochondriac's dream come true. You can find at least 100 diseases to suit any symptoms you may be experiencing!

I go on the internet to see how Angelina Jolie does her hair and make up. I try to copy it but, alas, it appears I am missing some crucial ingredients to even come close and I end up looking like some sort of aging broad with too much make up on having a bad hair day.

Sometimes I feel dumber after using the internet to look stuff up. I find it interesting that these days you can post an "article" on anything, pretend you know what you're talking about, and be taken seriously online.

Physicians always fuss at me when I come armed with self-diagnosing information found through Google.

Yes, it's interesting that so many portals of knowledge, especially in medicine, were so closely guarded.

Cow is sure Linda looks stunning no matter whose hair style she is apeing (no offense GB!)

Cow also thinks Watercolor must be doing something right to design big buildings!

Susan, studies have shown you are absolutely right. How does this humble Cow know? Because Cow is an expert, of course. :)

Moo!

There's plenty of bad on the Internets, but there's plenty of good too. It's odd to us, learning it on the back end, but for the children growing up with online worlds as part of their wallpaper, the "bad stuff" may be easier to detect.

Just a thought.
