Units

For eight bucks you can see a moovie which cost $35 million to make. Or one which cost $180 million to make.

For about twice that, you can buy a CD which took a year's worth of studio time and countless numbers of talented musicians playing their hearts out ... or one made with pocket change and nobody you ever heard of.

Cow sees the efficiency of same-unit pricing and remembers those cost per unit vs number of sales charts from MBA classes. She still thinks it's stupid and illogical.

Moo!

As stage actors in the UK say: "it's all about bums on seats". Amateurs performing Shakespeare have to charge more than a movie ticket just to cover their expenses. But it's still worth it.

Hee hee.

Now here in the US "bums on seats" connotes the "homeless" which is in itself a great visual:

(Cow imagining halls teeming with tattered homeless enjoying Twelfth Night)

Thanks GB for a great laugh.
