Community

As some observant readers may have noticed, Cow has a notebook computer now.

But continuing her boycott against the Evil Cable Company, Cow doesn't have Internet at home.

Which forces her into the sometimes salubrious company of others at the Coffee House.

Aside from the occasional horrible noise from the blender, it's amazing that such a diverse group can share a wi-fi connection to do so many different things while soothed by sugar drinks of all sorts.

Of course the comfy chairs help too. And the green paint. And tasteful Topiary decor, to which Cow adds her leafy presence. As she waits for her download.

Moo!

I hope Ms Cow doesn't have to travel too far or pay too much for this coffee house service.

Luckily this is a small independent House with wi-fi free for customers.

Cow hopes the Congo has similarly pleasing arrangements, close to hand. Or claw. As the case may be.

It's a lovely excuse for extra-curricular coffee.

I like the independent part the best.

I explained this same system to a man who proved to be thoroughly unpleasant when he responded by asking me how much coffee and a snack cost at said "free" establishment and how often I went and then -- gasp! -- asking me to do math and add that all up. (He was attempting to prove that I was spending more on my "free" wi-fi access than if I just ponied up and paid a monthly bill.)

I do not speak much to the unpleasant man anymore. He does not understand the meaning of "milieu."

I've considered the coffee house thing but am afraid I will get stuck in a mindless conversation with some strange individual who is in need of companionship when I am just not in the mood to talk.

Does Cow get her work done without being bothered a lot?

Daisy:

This gentleman obviously has no appreciation of the finer things in life.

Cow asks: which is more pleasant, a hot coffee drink with sugar snack along with wi-fi, or a monthly paper bill?

The defense rests.

Miss Mud: Cow's Coffee House is very pleasant. No unwanted contacts.

Hope you can watch videos on your notebooks and wifi connection (maybe best with earphones). You're missing all kinds of great stuff on YouTube.

Kevin...why Cow would like not to work.

Senor Galbi...this link has confirmed Cow's belief in a higher being...who plays Garage Guitar, of course.
